Hair Restoration

what is this service?

What We Offer:

VRAI provides a complete hair restoration program that covers both transplant and non-surgical care. For surgical candidates, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) redistributes permanent donor hairs to thinning areas for a natural result. For ongoing support, we pair in-office treatments such as PRF and scalp microneedling with a home plan that uses custom compounded hair products. Your plan is tailored after a medical evaluation, photos, and a discussion of goals, hair type, and lifestyle.

How Does Hair Restoration Work?

FUE removes individual follicular units from the donor zone using a small punch, usually less than 1 mm. Grafts are prepared and placed into tiny recipient sites that match your natural growth angle and direction. The transplanted hairs shed in the first few weeks as the follicles enter a resting phase, then new growth typically appears around months 3 to 4 and continues to mature up to 12 months. Because donor hairs retain their resistance to thinning, results are long lasting. Ongoing care protects native, non-transplanted hairs for the most balanced outcome.

Any Questions?

Who's a Good Candidate for FUE or a non-surgical plan??

You may be a good FUE candidate if you have stable donor density at the back and sides of the scalp and thinning that has slowed or is predictable. Early thinning, postpartum shedding, traction along the hairline, or diffuse loss can often respond well to a non-surgical plan with compounded products and PRF. A medical exam confirms the cause of loss and the safest path.

What is recovery like after FUE?

Expect scalp tenderness and small crusts that flake off within a week. Sleep with your head elevated for a few nights. Avoid heavy sweating, swimming, and sun exposure for about 7 to 10 days. Gentle rinsing starts early per your instructions, with a return to normal washing after the grafts are secure.

When will I see results?

With FUE, early growth is usually visible by months 3 to 4, with full refinement by 9 to 12 months. With compounded products, reduced shedding can appear within 6 to 8 weeks, and visible thickening often shows between 3 and 6 months with steady use.

How many grafts will I need?

It depends on your goals and current density. Hairlines often use 800 to 1,500 grafts. Temples and corners can add a few hundred more. Crowns can range from 1,000 to 2,500 depending on size and swirl pattern. Your plan is mapped out during consultation with density targets and a conservative donor strategy.

Will the compounded products cause shedding or side effects?

A brief increase in shedding can occur as hairs shift into a synchronized growth cycle. Mild scalp irritation is possible and usually improves with formula or vehicle adjustments. Systemic side effects are uncommon with topical use, and we tailor ingredients based on your medical history and risk profile.

Are results permanent and will I need maintenance?

Transplanted hairs are long lasting because they come from resistant donor zones. Native hairs can continue to thin over time, so maintenance with compounded products, PRF, and periodic assessments helps preserve balance. Some patients choose a small touch-up in the future as their pattern evolves.
